There are an extraordinary number of things to do in the
Hunter Valley and Lovedale makes a great base from which to
explore the area, with most activities within a short five
to ten minute drive.
Lovedale itself is one of the region’s oldest wine
growing regions, dating back to the 1800s when local
farmers tried their hand at grape growing. The name
Lovedale combines the names of one of these early families,
the Loves, with memories of the hills and dales of
Yorkshire. There were more wineries in the Lovedale region
in the 1920’s than there are today, with the
Love’s family winery, in Lovedale Road, producing
80,000 gallons of wine in 1927.
Today, the local community in Lovedale works together to
provide our guests with a Hunter Valley experience based on
quality, personal service and value for money. The
atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, with stunning views,
award winning boutique wines, unique quality accommodation
and excellent restaurants.
